Proposed pathway based on the analysis of the metabolome and lipidome data. BNP binds to NPR-A in adipose tissues leading to activation of guanylyl cyclase catalyzing the formation of cGMP from GTP. PKG is activated promoting the release of adiponectin which in turn affects lipoprotein metabolism shifting the lipoprotein profile towards a more favorable status.
