The table shows the following parameters in the experimental groups: body weight, heart weight, heart weight/body weight, heart weight to tibia length, blood glucose, heart rate (during echocardiography), fractional shortening, left ventricular (LV) anterior (AW) and posterior wall (PW) thicknesses in systole (s) and in diastole (d), LV internal diameter (ID) in ‘s’ and ‘d’. Groups: animals with T1DM, their non-diabetic controls (T1DM Co); animals with T2DM and their non-diabetic controls (T2DM Co). * p < 0.05 vs. corresponding control group
