Associations between plasma irisin levels and anthropometric/biochemical measures. In our study cohort of type 2 diabetic patients, Pearson’s correlation tests showed significant positive associations between plasma irisin and body mass index (BMI) (a p = 0.04); total fat (%) (b p = 0.03); HbA1c (c p = 0.032) and E-selectin (e p < 0.001); and a significant negative association between plasma irisin levels and the visceral fat score (d p = 0.006)
