PCSK9 levels and CETP activity according to the number of MetS components (0 8.5 %; 1 6.9 %; 2 8.2 %; 3 18.7 %; 4 32.7 %; 5 25.0 %). The data are presented as the mean ± SEM. P values were obtained using the Kruskal–Wallis test. PCSK9: P = 0.002; CETP: P < 0.0001. The univariate analysis showed that this relation persisted after adjustment for age, gender in both parameters (P < 0.0001)
