  1. Data for continuous variables are presented as mean ± SEM. Discrete variables are presented as number of subjects, and in parenthesis, either percentage of the group for which data are available (AMI phenotype) or the expected number by random distribution (α2B-adrenoceptor insertion/deletion genotype). Paired t test and McNemar's test were used to calculate the p value comparing the siblings discordant for history of AMI. Linear mixed models were used to calculate the p values in the comparison of the genotype groups.
