  1. Logistic regression analysis for association of UCP2 haplotypes with diseases traits, assuming the additive and dominant genetic models, adjusted for age, gender, and population (urban/rural). Significant p values from Wald test were in bold. Analysis for a recessive model was not feasible due to low frequency of rare haplotype (<5%). Criteria: Obesity (high BMI ≥25 kg/m2) [34], High FPG (≥126 mg/dL) [36], high TG (200–499 mg/dL), low HDL-C (<40 mg/dL), high LDL-C (≥ 160 mg/dL), high TC (≥240 mg/dL) [37]. f: haplotype frequencies. NA: not available, data were omitted due to low haplotype frequencies (<5%).
