A region of interest (ROI) was manually placed along the visceral pericardium (yellow line) (A) and EAT was extracted on an axial image (green) (B, C). (D) 3D image: EAT area was measured on each axial image from the lower surface of left pulmonary artery origin to the left ventricular apex and total EAT volume was obtained from multiplying EAT area and the slice thickness.
