Linagliptin inhibits ultrastructural abnormalities in WD-fed hearts. Panels A, D and G depict the normal organized appearance of sarcomeres (S) alternating with a row of intermyofibrillar mitochondria (Mt). WD induces abnormal remodeling of mitochondria and sarcomeres as depicted in Panels B, E and H. Inset in panel E shows Mt swelling and loss of cristae structure.
