A correlation graph was drawn between the carotid (A-D) mean or (E-H) maximum TBR and age, BMI, fasting plasma glucose levels, and total body fat. The degree of relationship between putative CVD risk factors and TBRmean or TBRmax was expressed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r). TBR, target-to-background ratio; BMI, body mass index; FPG, fasting plasma glucose. p < 0.05 was regarded as statistically significant.
