The intensities of the immunoreactive MT1/2 protein bands (A, B, C, D for total, ~70 kD, ~45 kD and ~ 30 kD polymerized forms of MT1/2, respectively) normalized to corresponding Ponceau-S-stained bands and depicted graphically. Quantitative data are means ± SEM and presented as relative to the non-diabetic controls, which were set at 1: *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 vs. control, and #P < 0.05 vs. diabetic: n = 7/group.
