Subgroup analysis comparing the association between HbA1c and time-to-event in individuals with and without DM. HbA1c was used as continuous variable in mmol/mol. HbA1c hazard ratios are presented per 10 mmol/mol increase. The models include an interaction term between HbA1c and the subgroup indicator (DM yes/no). The Cox models for the three endpoints were adjusted for age (time scale), sex and cohort (strata), and CVRFs, smoking status, BMI, systolic blood pressure, DM, DM treatment, and total cholesterol to HDL cholesterol ratio. The p-value for interaction is for an interaction between DM and HbA1c
