Associations of baseline FGF21/adiponectin ratio, FGF21, and adiponectin levels with incident prediabetes, new-onset diabetes, and deterioration in glycemia over a 4.6-year follow-up period. Odds ratios (95% confidence intervals) were obtained from multiple logistic regression analysis, referring to 1 SD change in loge-transformed serum FGF21/adiponectin ratio, FGF21, and adiponectin levels, and were adjusted for age, body mass index, waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, triglyceride, high- and low-density lipoprotein, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, sex, homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance, and HbA1c. *p value < 0.05.
