Metformin improved BM-EPC functions in diabetic mice. BM-EPCs from anesthetized mice were isolated and cultured. Metfromin improved the tube formation (a, b) and migration (c, d) ability of BM-EPCs. Blood was harvested from anesthetized mice. Metformin increased circulating EPCs in STZ-induced diabetic mice (e, f). **P < 0.01 vs Control; # P < 0.05 vs STZ.
