Metformin accelerated wound healing and stimulated angiogenesis in diabetic mice. Six-mm diameter wound was made by punch biopsy and closure of the wound area was measured every 2 days until day 10, metformin accelerated wound closure in STZ-induced diabetic mice (a, b).
