  1. High-resolution transthoracic echocardiography performed on conscious MuRF2−/− and age-matched wild type mice at baseline, 6, 12, 15, 22, and 26 weeks high fat diet. Data represent mean ± SEM. A One Way ANOVA was performed between all groups, followed by Holm-Sidak Multiple Comparisons vs. MuRF2+/+ baseline. A Student’s t test was then run to compare MuRF2−/− to wildtype control at the same time point.
  2. HR heart rate, ExLVD external left ventricular diameter, bpm heart beats per minute, AWTD anterior wall thickness in diastole, AWTS anterior wall thickness in systole, PWTD posterior wall thickness in diastole, PWTS posterior wall thickness in systole, LVEDD left ventricular end-diastolic dimension, LVESD left ventricular end-systolic dimension, FS fractional shortening, calculated as (LVEDD-LVESD)/LVEDD × 100, EF% ejection fraction calculated as (end Simpson’s diastolic volume − end Simpson’s systolic volume)/end Simpson’s diastolic volume × 100, ND not determined.
  3. § p < 0.05 by One Way ANOVA.
  4.  p < 0.05 vs. MuRF2+/+ Baseline by Multiple Comparisons.
  5. $ p < 0.05 vs. time-matched MuRF2+/+ (Student’s t test).
