The mRNA expression of suppressors of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3, A) and interleukin 6 (IL6, B) was significantly decreased in the soleus muscle of hypertensive DS rats treated with control peptide SM-50. Inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB) by specific inhibitor of SN-50 significantly reduced the mRNA expression of SOCS3 or monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP1). *P < 0.05 vs. NS, #p < 0.05 vs. HS/SM50; N = 4-5.
