Diabetic HDL induces HUVEC COX-2 expression and PGI-2 release. Cells were incubated with N-HDL (HDL isolated from normal controls, 30 μg/mL, n=15), D-HDL (HDL isolated from diabetes, 30 μg/mL, n=15) for 6 hours. Cells were cultured with PBS as a negative control. The expression of COX-2 was assayed by Western blot analysis (A and B). PGI-2 release was determined by competitive ELISA (C). D-F showing that the effects of HDL on HUVECs were in a concentration-dependent pattern. Data are expressed as the means ± SEM of three independent experiments.
