StAR overexpression inhibited expression of genes involved in lipid metabolism and reduced levels of intracellular free fatty acid and cholesterol. To determine the effect of StAR overexpression on lipids metabolism, the gene expression involved in lipid metabolism and intracellular total cholesterol and free fatty acid were detected after infected with adenovirus in RAECs. A: The mRNA levels of relative genes involved in lipid metabolism in RAECs infected with adenovirus. Data are presented as a ratio of gene-to-GAPDH expression (relative mRNA levels). RAECs were infected with adenovirus as indicated, and intracellular total cholesterol (B) and free fatty acid (C) were extracted and analyzed as described in the “Methods” section.
