Table 3 Association between the FTO, the MC4R and the combined score ( FTO and MC4R polymorphisms) and type 2 diabetes

From: Associations of the FTO rs9939609 and the MC4R rs17782313 polymorphisms with type 2 diabetes are modulated by diet, being higher when adherence to the Mediterranean diet pattern is low

  1. Stratified multivariate* logistic regression analysis depending on the adherence to the Mediterranean diet (AMD).
  2. *: Models adjusted for sex, age, center, total energy intake and physical activity (Model 1). Model 2 was additionally adjusted for BMI.
  3. **: For the estimation of the variant allele effect, the score variable indicating the number of combined variant alleles (0, 1, 2 , 3 and 4) was considered as continuous.
  4. P1: P value obtained for the global effect of the polymorphism in the multivariate logistic regression models.
  5. P2: P value for the interaction term between adherence to the Mediterranean diet and the corresponding polymorphism in the logistic regression model.
